If your Council would like to benefit from data visualisations
The goal was a digital portal that transformed raw data into easily understandable and accessible visual displays.
The result, the NRC Environmental Portal, is a system for providing immediate, in-depth and highly relevant environmental information about the Northland Region. The council’s raw data is uploaded to Hilltop. The Environmental Portal then accesses this data and organises it based on the council’s specifications. Finally, the information is presented on the website in easy to use maps and lists, providing visual guides for data points and streamlining the experience of sorting through data.
The portal includes the ability for Northland Regional Council to set danger thresholds for environmental conditions, to give warning of impending issues. Further information such as images and webcam feeds can also be added to data points to give a more detailed overview of an area.
